Fun Facts about New York

FUN FACT:  Did you know that in the Adirondack Park located in New York is larger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier and Olympic Parks combined.

FUN FACT:  If you are a Hollywood buff.....Did you know that the Baldwin Boys are from Camillus, N.Y. (about 1 hour from Ithaca) and their mom still resides there and is very active in Breast Cancer Awareness. (The Carol Baldwin Foundation) 
Tom Cruise is from Syracuse
Vanessa Williams was a Syracuse University Graduate.
Richard Gere is from North Syracuse. 
Humphrye Bogart used to spend his summers on Canandaigua Lake.
(Canandaigua is derived from a Native American word meaning the chosen spot.)

FUN FACT:  If you are a sports buff....Did you know that Babe Ruth slammed his first home run in the first game ever played at the New York Stadium.
Geneva is known as the "Lake Trout Capital of the World."
The longest game in Baseball history was played between Rochester and the Pawtucket Red Socks.
The game lasted a total of 33 innings.
The New York Jets will be training in Cortland this summer (30 minutes from Ithaca).
